Tsunami Alert,Warnings Issued: Japanese Quake Effects On India's Economy,Companies List In Japan

Japanese earthquake, Tsunami alert widens and spreads to 19 other countries including Indonesia, Jakarta, Hawaii etc all are on Tsunami high alert.

Government authorities have issued tsunami warnings and have evacuated people to safer higher areas as the tsunami waves are expected to be travelling and may hit whatever comes its way.

  The disaster in Japan today is unlikely to have dampening effects on Indian economy as such, but it is a worrying development for those Indian companies and enterprises having operations in Japan (Tokyo).

All Asian markets fell sharply after the quake report. Trading on the Japanese stock market Nikkei was halted including trading in the bond market. Indian stock markets also fell sharply as reports of the quake came in but bounced off from days lows.

Japan is one of India's largest trading partners with bilateral trade standing at over $10 billion.
