Both Reuters and the Los Angeles Times are reporting that at least 1,000 people are presumed dead in Japan after Friday's 8.9 magnitude earthquake. 2011 Japan earth quake is the worst hit in more than 100 years which triggered the devastating tsunami claiming lives of thousands and tsunami death toll, casualties rising.

Kyodo News in Japan said that at least 1,000 people have been confirmed dead so far, many in the city of Sendai. The death toll will likely rise as the damage in other areas is assessed.

After the quake followed by the 30 foot high killer tsunami waves which destroyed everything on its path, the latest problem in Japan is one of its many nuclear power plant in Fukushima Daiichi not cooling down.

The Fukushima Daiichi nuclear reactor, about 160 miles (260 kilometers) north of Tokyo, "remains at a high temperature" because it "cannot cool down," Chief Cabinet Secretary Yukio Edano told reporters.

Officials order about 3,000 residents to evacuate as the government declared its first-ever state of nuclear power emergency as was talked about earlier.

Japanese authorities will have to release slightly radioactive vapor to ease pressure at nuclear reactor whose cooling system failed after the workers scrambled to restore the cooling system in the Nuclear power plant.

Japan's nuclear safety agency says pressure inside one of six boiling water reactors at the Fukushima Daiichi plant had risen to 1.5 times the level considered normal. The agency also said the radioactive element in the vapor that will be released would not affect the environment or human health.

These actions notwithstanding, Japanese Prime Minister Naoto Kan plans to head to the region. He will set off by helicopter around 6 a.m. Saturday to personally inspect the plant, according to Edano.

President Barack Obama have offered condolences and aid to Japan's victims. White House advisers are discussing plans to assist Japan, as well as the U.S. states and territories that could be affected in the 2011 Japanese Tsunami.

Also according to several reports, the U.S. Air Force launched an emergency operation to deliver a special coolant to a nuclear plant damaged in the quake.

Update 15th March: Death toll in Japan tsunami has now reached over 2400+ people confirmed death. It is estimated that by the time total damage of the tsunami aftermath will be accessed, the death toll could well surprass the 10000 people who lost there lives in the devastation caused by the mother nature.
