Who will win India vs Srilanka world cup final 2011 to be held tomorrow at Mumbai? Tickets are booked, bets are placed, players are ready and bookmakers cup favorite stays India.
India is clearly been on a dream run desiring to defeat oppositions for winning the world cup at home. For some its no less than a fairy tale. Sachin Tendulkar, the batsman also considered as god of cricket is living his dream. It was through eyes of Sachin Tendulkar that the team and the countrymen were able to dream winning the world cup.
Sachin Tendulkar playing for India for more than 20 years now, but even with his dominance on the field, he could never win the world cup for India. While playing his last world cup, all he wanted is the World Cup in his hands kissing it till the end of time!
India at home, playing in front of massive home crowd, world cup final, Sachin Tendulkar's 100th Century of Centuries, all seems like the most romantic script ever written or imagined.
But wait a minute, theres something sentimental in the Srilankan team as well. Muttiah Muralitharan is also dreaming to win the world cup along his fellow team mates while he bowls for the last time on Saturday's final match.
Muralitharan is not just a bowler, he's a magician. With 800+wickets on his name, he is world most dangerous wicket taker spin bowler and will be playing his international career to end tomorrow. Muralitharan, age 38, has somehow managed with his own body and has been on round-the-clock treatment through out the world cup tournmanet.
Srilankan camp would like to give Muralitharan the perfect ending and farewell to his more than successful career. He has won countless of Matches for Srilanka, the team would give its best to win the final match for the magician with the ball.
Srilankan batting star Tillakaratne Dilshan warned in his BBC on-line column yesterday: "Our team is determined to give Murali, a great team player, a great friend and a special man, a great farewell by winning the World Cup."
Srilanka has 4M's which Indian batsman should take care of while batting if they want the dream to come true, thats Murali, Malinga, Mendis and Mathew.Even for a free hitter like Virender Sehwag, scoring quick runs will not be as easy, Malinga got the pace and the length, Mendis is accurate, Mathew is the target bowler India must have been thinking about, but he is ruled out of tomorrows game because of a thing injury..
We have seen that slow bowlers have done better in the tournament. It will be a pleasure to watch Muralitharan bowl to Sachin Tendulkar on such a stage in the middle overs post 15 overs power play for the last time.
What should be India's strategy to defeat Srilanka in the finals?
Ms Dhoni, is a cool calm headed captain. But he does mistakes too. He did some mistake against Pakistan at Mohali, he cant repeat them at Wankhede Stadium,Mumbai tomorrow in the India vs SL final match. MSD must also score runs off his bat, he seemed to be losing out.
Sachin Tendulkar, would he make his 100th match winning Century of Centuries tomorrow? But one thing for sure, Sachin will not be dropped 4 times like what the Pakistani team did at Mohali. He will have to play class cricket to sail India through.
India must learn to time there power play better than leaving it for the tail enders who actually does no good with the bat. India would be first time playing at the re-laid pitch at Wankhede, but Srilanka has a edge of having to know how the pitch plays since they met against New Zealand before the semi finals in the same ground, where they won the match convicingly.
Ashish Nehra should be kept out of the playing 11 and instead Ashwin should be given a place. Also S.K Raina should be promoted higher in the batting line up giving him an opportunity to add something big on the score.
Raina has been the guy who may have scored few runs in the matches he played, but whatever runs he added were acually the crucial match winning runs difference and stayed not out in the last two matces.

History wont matter because tomorrow a new history will be written in golden words. Indians would prefer a perfect ending to the fairy tale. Lankans would desire the same as well for there master Muralitharan.
As a cricket fan myself, I know the team who plays better will win and I think this match will be much interesting and thrilling than the match again Pakistan. If India wins, the victory to be sweeter if would be on the back of Sachin Tendulkar's 100th Century.
If India bats first, they will have to score quick runs in the first 10-12 overs to have an edge over the Lankans. Niether of the time will be playing to lose the match, both will get on the field to win the final of World Cup 2011.
1996 World Cup Semifinal India's revenge is to bo be taken. Tears of that night should not go waste.
