Who won the toss in the world cup final today on the first coin flip? There was confusion on the field when the coin was tossed that who won it India (Ms Dhoni) or Srilanka (Sangakara)? Match referee couldn't decide on the first time who won, because he said he couldn't hear anything because of the noice inside the stadium.
There by, to clear the confusion both the captains agreed to match referee's request to re-toss the coin once again and Sangakara called heads and head it was. Srilanka elected to bat first and put India to field first.
Do you think it was unproffessional to toss twice, given that its not a regular match, its a big match and both the teams are playing for the biggest of prize, World Cup 2011?
There's speculation by media channels that Dhoni won the toss on the first coin flip. Winning toss is always an advantage over the opposition, since team's prefer putting runs on the board and put pressure on the other team. Losing the toss may or may not decide the fate of the two teams, but it surely works as advantage for the winning team.
Has Srilanka gained the advantage? The body language of MS Dhoni felt like as if he knew that he won the toss. But as a gentlemen and for the spirit of the game, he didn't budge and re-tossed.
MS Dhoni must not have agreed to the re-toss if he was sure that India won the toss. The pitch is scuffing up quickly it seems. Will the pitch last 100 overs? I really dont know and I am worried a bit given the pitch as we know it.
All we now hope is that India wins the final ultimately, otherwise this Twiced-tossed is going to create a lot of controversies and MS Dhoni will be flooded by questions that why he agreed to the re-toss.

Top-level comments on this article: (2 total)India defeated England right, not West Indies. :D Anyway, Sangakkara cheated Dhoni out of the toss I think. Sri Lankans are always up to their crooked and cunning and cheap and unsporting ways.Who says India defeated West Indies in 1983? lol .. It was at Lords and was England who lost the match. India in a good position, Srilanka 60-2 in 16 overs and have lost Dilshan who was looking good. Its good going.
I agree on Srilanka being unsporting and very cunning. Mahela Jayawardene proved it in the match against New Zealand also in the group stages match. Thats really a spoil sport.Okay, you mean to say India played the semi-finals or finals with England? I know that India defeated the windies and Kapil took a very good catch of Vivian that day which was the turning point of the game. Mohinder took max wickets.
Dilshan wasn't out right? There seems to be confusion how he got bowled out. The ball actually took a rebound from Dhoni's gloves and then hit the stumps I think.
Let us know the outcome of the game DakhshIndia are the World Champions, David. They won the World Cup 2011 in style!
